7 Things I Wish I Knew BEFORE Working at the Big 4 (Deloitte, Ernst & Young, KPMG, PWC)

5 companies you wish you worked for

If you’ve always thought a little more zen in your office would help stave off sick days then you might be on to something, according to the NHS. As part of the latest attempt to cut costs they’re putting together a £5m scheme (you’ve got to spend money to save money, right?) that’ll encourage employees to take up yoga, which should help discourage people from phoning in sick – they hope.

While we atMHare totally on board (we practice our pigeon poses every Thursday lunchtime with yoga instructor, Annie Rice) we can’t help but think the NHS could go a little further. Especially when we read about what the following five companies are doing to end fakers phoning in sick and create a workplace that you'll never want to leave.

StumbleUpon

A gym membership always seems like a good idea until you see the monthly membership fee. Unless you work at StumbleUpon, that is. The web company takes the health and fitness of its employees very seriously and reimburses you for any gym/wellness costs, while also providing breakfast, lunch and an endless supply of organic fruit to feast on all day.

Air BnB

Want to get paid to take a week off work and travel anywhere in the world? Send your CV over to Air BnB ASAP. The company gives each employee 00 a year to get away from the office and even covers the cost of an Air BnB apartment. An upgrade on your last long weekend to Butlins, we reckon.

Propellernet

Full of good ideas? Put them to good use at Propellernet and you’ll be rewarded with a once in a lifetime opportunity. Hit your monthly monthly target and you’re in with a chance to make a dream come true, whether it’s snowboarding in the Alps or meeting remote Amazonian tribes, this tiny start-up will make it happen.

Peer 1 Hosting

This company has taken Silicon Valley playfulness to new heights. Think work cubicles replaced by an adult sized playground, helter skelter, giant swing, tree house, cinema and an in-house bar. How they actually get any work done we’re not sure, but we wouldn’t blame employees for wanting to move in full time.

Made.com

Bring your pet to work days are common in a lot of offices, but made.com, an online furniture company, let you take Rex into the meeting room all week long Plus, they don’t mind you taking him for a walk to help clear your mind – consider him your new four-legged running partner.
